It will be winter again before we know it! I am so happy, I cannot wait! What did you think, about what you just read? Do you feel the same way about winter time as I do? If you are like the average person, you probably thought this guy is wacko, or something. It's just that I have enjoyed every season since I was a young child, to me they each have great things, and nothing is worse in one season over the other.
I hear folks grumble in the summer about the heat and sweating, and in the winter I hear these same folks talking about the cold and over eating. It's like anything really, some folks tend to stay pretty happy all year around, while others tend to be sad and depressed all year round, life is how you make it, and how you react to situations that happen, no matter how tragic they are. Now one thing that I hear a lot of people saying about winter is, they hate gaining weight and getting the winter blues.
What many of these folks don't realize or think about is, they are creating this problem themselves, eating a lot of the wrong foods not only causes weight gain, but eating the wrong foods causes a person to become weak, or even to feel depressed, triggering the winter blues. What is it you hear people often talking about during the winter season? 'The holidays'. Holidays bring about many happy moments, but they also cause something else to happen, they bring about a lot of baking and eating of high calorie foods.
Homes are often filled with the smells of cookies, homemade breads and candies. There are also dishes sitting around, filled with everything from store bought chocolates to hard candies. Guests often arrive bringing homemade fudge and other sweets, even at work, offices and break rooms have an abundance of holiday sweets and other foods. There is nothing wrong with celebrating the Holidays, but the problem comes when folks celebrate every day in the winter like it's a Holiday. Instead of eating high calorie food just on the Holiday, for instance Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, folks eat the junk food and other high calorie foods all winter season.
Eating these high calorie, sugar rich foods, gives us a temporarily high or burst of energy, then just the opposite occurs for a much longer period, the mind and body literally slows down, and becomes lethargic and sleepy, plus the high calorie food, can easily start making us gain weight, all of this easily brings about the Winter Blues. This winter season and every winter season, start eating and snacking sensibly and only on the actual Holiday days, you will see that eating more healthy not only keeps the winter weight gain away, but it also helps to shake the Winter Blues.
